About the Journal

Erdélyi Jogélet [Transylvanian Legal Life] a journal founded in 2019 by the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania, Institute of Law as the successor to the Transylvanian Law Gazette (1907-1918) of Cluj-Napoca and the Transylvanian Legal Life (1942-1944) of Târgu Mureş.

Copyright Statement:

Regarding the articles published in this journal the provisions of the open Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-ND 4.0) license shall apply. The author shall retain the totality of his/her rights over the published work without any restrictions, including the copyright and full publishing rights.

 

Open Access Statement:

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

 

Peer Review and Plagiarism Screening Policy:

All submissions sent to the journal are subject to two rounds of peer review. The peer review takes place by use of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. All articles must therefore be submitted by use of the OJS system, on the journal’s online user interface.

During the first round (editorial review) the submissions are assessed, to determine if they respect the formal requirements and standards of originality, as well as scientific rigor required for publication. During this phase the submissions are also screened for plagiarism by one editor and by use of automated means (software used for this purpose) as well. In case any form of plagiarism is detected during the editorial review or at any later date, the author(s) of the submission shall be permanently banned from publishing in the journal. All remarks by the editors are communicated to the author(s) who should proceed to modifying the contents and/or form of their submission in accordance with the requests within 10 days after these were made to avoid rejection of the submission.

During the second round (double-blind peer review) two reviewers receive the text of the submission by use of the OJS system.

The reviewers shall not be made aware of the identity of the author(s) or the other reviewer and the author(s) shall not be made aware of the identity of the reviewers. The reviewers shall review the submission and propose: (1) publication without further modifications, (2) publication with modifications or (3) rejection of the submission. In case the reviewers proposed modifications to the submission, these must take place within a period of 10 days after the request has been made, to avoid rejection of the submission.
