The study examines the principle of contractual freedom in the context of professional athletes’ legal relationships. It analyzes the legal frameworks and norms governing the relationships between athletes and sports organizations, with a particular focus on the self-regulatory role of sports organizations. The rules set by these organizations significantly influence and often limit the contractual freedom of athletes. The aim of the study is to highlight the legality and necessity of these restrictions and to explore how they align with the principle of contractual freedom and constitutional rights.
