In the oeuvre of Imre Molnár (1934–2016), research related to Roman lease contracts (locatio conductio) and the studies and writings resulting from these play a significant role. As an assistant professor, he began studying classical Roman law rental relationships in 1968. As a
result of many years of research, he defended his candidate dissertation titled Locatio Conductio in Classical Roman law in 1977. His candidate dissertation, supplemented with important scholarly works published since its defence, as issued in Szeged in 2013 under the title Locatio Conductio in Classical Roman Law.
