Abstract

Ferenc Raffay published his first monograph on private law in 1903. The book was revised several times and eventually published in two volumes and three editions. This third edition, significantly expanded and revised, inspired the present study.
Ferenc Raffay gives a coherent treatment of the sources relating to the contract for the performance of a contract, in which he repeatedly mentions construction contracts and the legal problems they raise. The present study takes up those issues of case law which are still relevant today. Beyond that, it will describe the evolution of the name, the concept, and the differentiation of the construction contract up to the present day.
