Abstract

The study examines company names from the perspective of civil law, company law, competition law, and trademark law. The paper analyses the principles of name authenticity, name exclusivity, and name accuracy, and it discusses relevant case law on the use of family names in company names, confusingly similar company names, and the market function of domain names.
