The study examines one of the textbooks used in the Hungarian-language legal education in Romania, which deals with one of the most important areas of civil law, the general doctrines of obligations. We have reviewed the 5th, expanded and updated edition of the book by Emőd Veress, published in 2023. The article is not a recension, not a traditional book review, but rather a loose garland of thoughts awakened by the textbook. It is an experience sharing and further reflection.
